Overview

The Quincy Art Center has a rich history as a not-for-profit art museum, celebrating visual arts for nearly a century. Nestled in the beautiful East End Historical District of Quincy, Illinois, their facilities include a charming carriage house built in 1887 and a modern wing added in 1990. Through their diverse exhibits and engaging programming, the Quincy Art Center demonstrates a deep dedication to Art, Community, and Education.

When I was commissioned to redesign their website, I wanted to capture the essence of the Quincy Art Center – their heritage, their commitment to the arts, and their role as a hub for the community. The design I proposed was met with enthusiasm, but a complication in their internal approval process ultimately led to the contract being canceled. Determined to preserve the custom work I had done, I built a separate production site that would not be affected by the contract cancelation.
